**Wuthering Waves ** is the latest effort from developer Kuro Games ( Punishing: Gray Raven ). It's an action RPG gacha title set to release for iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation, and borrows heavily from already popular titles within the same space - most obviously Genshin Impact , which it will inevitably draw numerous comparisons to. That's certainly not a bad place to start, however, and what Wuthering Waves innovates is more than enough to separate it as a SLG Game heroes worth watching as it moves closer to a global release following another round of closed beta te

Collecting different Echo and using them on the battlefield is arguably one of the most fun mechanics in Wuthering Waves. Some of these Echoes can take your character's place while others can act separately . However, each character can only use one Echo ability, which belongs to the topmost one you place on t

Huanglong Lost History (Lighthouse Locations) Perspective Bender Domain Guide Backflip Challenge Hero of the Leap Secret Investigation How to Find the Guide Crystals When The Moonlight Shines In The Forest A Free Meal? Some quests automatically enter your quest inventory, and these include Tutorial and Exploration quests. The former introduces you to new mechanics while the latter helps you make the world a bit sa

Combat also feels snappy and responsive in Wuthering Waves , with well-made character movement a crucial element of the flow of battle. Dodges felt especially pinpoint and rewarding, and combat also features a parry system where a unit can time their attack to respond to an enemy's vulnerability indicator during their own lunge - doing so results in damage and a stagger that can set up the next chain of a combo. The hands-on was a little too short to really go in-depth on these systems so it's difficult to ascertain exactly how the interplay between dodging, parrying, and swapping units really flows, but what was on display felt intuitive and

These let you have some resonator exp, weapon exp, or Shell Credits, in exchange for some Waveplate. It's highly recommended to do these challenges and reduce your Waveplate so that it can start regenerating again . It's not ground-breaking, but the implementation is excellent - slowly building up a charge bar while using abilities and properly timing dodges allows players to then swap into a new unit that has an immediate effect upon entering the battlefield. We didn't get a chance to really examine what those abilities are, but they seem to range from doing damage to setting up better positioning for a new skill in

However, these fights won't be easy. Regardless of your SOL3 Phase, these bosses are quite formidable, but each one of them has a specific weakness . You need to make use of this weakness to deal heavy damage to their Vibration (white) bar. You can either dodge at the right time or use an attack when the enemies' attack shows a Weakness Halo . We got to try a few different difficulty levels and while the first one was fairly easy, only requiring a few well-timed dodges to set up brutally efficient combos, the very next difficulty element resulted in a team wipe after an ill-timed party member swap. It's refreshing to have combat in this genre that feels sufficiently challenging without being completely over-the-top , and early impressions make it feel like Kuro Games has managed to strike that elusive bala

While the environment and scenery are visually fairly indistinct from what we saw, they were interesting enough, with materials to gather, enemies to defeat, and puzzles to solve. We played through a brief logic puzzle that was just above the boss fight demo, and it was a Tetris block-style conundrum that was a fun distraction. Obviously, one puzzle isn't enough to judge an entire game's worth of open world content so it's mostly speculation at this point, but based on other closed beta impressions/streams it **looks like the world of Wuthering Waves will have more than enough on offer to keep people interested in its early days

If you head over to the character screen and select the fourth option on the left side of the current resonator that you're using , you'll be able to see all their active and passive skills .
