The year is 1911. John Marshton was once a dangerous outlaw but has left that life behind to pursue the simple pleasures of being a family man. John is enjoying his new life until the Bureau of Investigation visits him to work out a deal with him and take his wife and kid into custody for leverage. As a former outlaw, John is facing some serious penalties for his past but the FBI is willing to cut him a break if he brings his former gang members to justice. John agrees to these terms, not like h...

Shigeru Miyamoto famously said, "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." There are examples both for and against this in the games industry, but with the recent delay of Red Dead Redemption 2 , many have wondered what this might mean for the title. While most turn to this quote and hope for the best, there is still a chance that things aren’t as good as they seem over at Rockstar. The company is famously tight-lipped. Even if there was trouble, we would never hear about it...

Perhaps the most defining characteristic of the Wild West is the vast amounts of wildlife that call it home. Red Dead Redemption did a great job of introducing this by giving players the opportunity to hunt (or get hunted by) animals like bears, coyotes, and wild boars. It would be amazing to see Rockstar expand upon this feature. Imagine the player not only being to able to bait a falcon, but then be able to train it and help the player hunt and explore. Maybe the player could also break in uno...

Every action and decision that the player makes as Arthur ends up affecting the way that other characters perceive him out in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 . From violently shooting up local sheriffs or robbing civilians, to giving assistance to a woman out on the road after her horse has died, the Honor system not only serves as a way to indicate the path that Arthur is taking morally -- whether he's a ruthless outlaw or a more compassionate cowboy -- but also has more tangible effects on ...

With Red Dead Redemption having had several clear references to the John Ford classic, there's no denying that The Searchers ' influences on the Western film genre have worked their way into Rockstar's work, and it will be interesting to see if Red Dead Redemption 2 continues on what Ford and John Wayne delivered with their seminal 1956 film.As the oldest of the entries here, there wouldn't be a list of Western films complete without at least one entry from the extensive canon of legendary Weste...

You'll find plenty of different stores throughout Red Dead Redemption 2 worth exploring, including the general stores for your all-around needs and goods, gun shops to upgrade and maintain equipment, and more.Though the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 is thrilling and action-packed in its own right, it's all enveloped in a world that is rich in depth and detail, and not taking a chance to step back and appreciate the sheer skill that went into crafting the impeccably-made world of Red Dead Redemp...

A good crop of the games on here started out as Nintendo exclusives to the 3DS, or Wii U. How Nintendo rounded up a bunch of ambitious Western themed games I'll never know, but this one is a dud. A cowboy armadillo that rolls around fighting rock monsters while trying to protect a town is all good on paper, but the execution leaves something to be desired. I’ve never really been a fan of Tower Defense games, but I always give them a fair shake anyway. This game would be good despite that genre, ...

This happens time and time again. The fight for blue buff. However, Feybreak Island Expansion we all know how the guys on the rift can be. They are suckers for pretty ladies. Whether it’s Ahri or Jinx, they just can’t tell her no. So when she asks for that sacred blue buff, of course, what can a jungler do but say "sure, sweet While the map has yet to be released for Red Dead Redemption 2 , one can assume that there will be many bodies of water featured, much like in the previous game. Unfortun...

This seems nearly impossible seeing as we’re almost at the 10-year anniversary of the game’s announcement, but I feel fairly positive Final Fantasy XV might at least launch in Japan by the time 2015 ends. The fact that we’re getting a gameplay demo in 2015, the large amount of gameplay trailers released in 2014, and the fact that the English voice-overs are already done is enough evidence to suggest we’ll be playing Final Fantasy XV sooner than later.2014 got a pass because not a lot of original...

John agrees and puts on a spectacular show, ending with him knocking an unruly onlooker out. The feeble-minded crowd rushes the stand, buying Nigel West Dickens elixir en mass. Not crazily revolting, you lying piece of crap, but still dishonest. Until you find out that Nigel West Dickens elixir is poisoning people later in the game. So not are you dishonest, you’re also helping people ingest poison. Way to go John, way to 2017 is shaping up to be a landmark year for video games. Not only do we h...

In Rockstar’s effort to create a realistic game, like horses that have packages that shrink in cold weather, they certainly didn't go all the way in some regards. For example, you can somehow store a near infinite amount of random items in your beginning pouch, but heaven forbid you to put more than one animal carcass on your horse. Also, somehow, you can store an army of guns on your sidesaddle, but not on Arthur's person. There are a lot of inconsistencies, but hey, that's video gaAs a modern ...

Assassin’s Creed: Victory was rudely outed December 2014 as the next Assassin’s Creed game, and there’s one thing everyone is thinking right now; please don’t be like Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Unity was a broken wreck at launch. Riddled with bugs, glitches, a Co-Op feature that barely works, and a continuously dipping framerate, Unity is the poster-boy for how not to launch a game. True, the experience has gotten better with patches, but that’s no excuse for launching Unity in the state it was in...
