Applications that provide predictive text or grammar checking tools can streamline the writing process, providing instant and tailored support for each student. These tools enable educators to offer a personalized approach to learning, accommodating the diverse needs of their students.
In addition, educators have leveraged a multi-sensory approach to teaching writing. This involves using visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli to reinforce learning. For example, some teachers used sand or shaving cream to allow students to physically form letters with their fingers. Such interactive activities help make the learning process more engaging and enjoyable, thus reducing stress and anxiety associated with writing.
Our observations also show a notable development in children’s independent learning capabilities. Online learning encourages students to take charge of their studies. They learn to navigate through digital platforms, find necessary resources on their own, and manage their reading schedules.

This case study focuses on a groundbreaking shift in delivering the English curriculum to 5th graders of John F. Kennedy Elementary School, a public school in Mason City, Iowa. The school implemented a program during the 2018-2019 academic year that used creative writing prompts inspired by popular books, specifically for improving students' writing skills.
