It seems like everything panned out okay in the end for our lovable outlaw. WRONG. John was betrayed by the government and shot down outside his family home while defending his son and wife. This was a truly soul wrenching moment which broke our hearts. While it may of been a piece of scripted brilliance on Rockstar's part. it also meant the death of one of gaming's greatest characters and I'm afraid it is something we can never quite forg<br><br>Though Red Dead Redemption 2 offers plenty of chances to take on other characters in a violent manner, if you're looking to settle conflicts with random characters out in the world, consider trying a more civil approach first by talking them down before drawing your guns. For example, if you happen to accidentally run over a civilian or a traveler gets wary of you, try focusing on them and seeing if you can defuse the situation first by talking them down. If that doesn't work and guns get drawn, you can also aim your weapon and press up on the D-Pad to aim your weapon in the air and fire a warning shot. This is more than enough to get the message across that you shouldn't be messed with and can scare other characters away, but without drawing any bloodshed.<br><br>The Red Dead franchise succeeds because it's playing into the most American fantasies of what the Wild West was, while keeping it grounded. It was a time were America was still getting its footing as a new nation. Things were being discovered by a people who had largely still never seen most of what the land had to offer, thus appropriately titled, the Wild West. It seemed like a hellish dreamscape where those from the east coast talked of savages and wild beast, men who idealized the same sort of lawlessness discussed among certain circles. Yet, it was none of these things, for a people having just arrived to a nation, it was much tamer than one might imagine. Instead, it was a place not overly populated and begging for people to settle its lands (I hope we see Natives in this game).
