The game is structured in 16 ordered cycles: in each one, players must locate a particular Colossus, learn its weakness, and defeat it. There's very little to be found off the beaten path, aside from items to raise max HP and stamina, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to explore. Finding these bosses is easier said than done, and the game provides scant hints as to their location. A rare direct sequel in the Zelda series, Tears of the Kingdom continues the story of its predecessor, placing Link back in the same open-world, post-apocalyptic Hyrule, with what looks like a bevvy of major changes to keep the game fresh. First revealed in 2019, Tears of the Kingdom is shaping up to be a massively ambitious game, well worth the w<br><br> <br>Spirits have always played a big role in the lore of the <a href="https://zeldatearsofthekingdomfans.com/articles/breath-of-the-wild-vs-tears-of-the-kingdom-my-personal-journey-through-hyrule.html">Zelda temples and dungeons</a> series, and in Breath of the Wild, similar floating orbs of energy can be seen hovering around the various deceased characters you meet, such as King Rhoam. Since nothing interacts with these particular spirits, it's hard to say what their purpose in this game may<br><br>Tears of the Kingdom's Link can merge different items together with Fuse. And not just some items; at least if the trailer is any indication, pretty much everything within the interactive environment is up for grabs.<br><br>The new Fuse capability allows you to create boats, flying machines, and car-like contraptions using surrounding materials and your own imagination. Paragliding fans that got Link airborne in Breath of the Wild can now be attached to fallen tree logs for a custom river-crossing motorboat, as the gameplay video demonstrates.<br><br>Tears of the Kingdom seem to change that as yet another of Link's new abilities lets him reverse the motion of objects. Using Recall, Link can ascend into the sky islands by selecting a rock and reversing its downward motion.<br><br> <br>Breath of the Wild not only introduced an open world map, it also gave players the chance to be creative in the way they approached the game. Now, Tears of the Kingdom is showing that players will be able to get even more creative with Link's new abilities, one of which lets him combine any two items for a staggering number of possible combinations. Contrasting the explicitly monstrous and (for most of the game) mostly formless Calamity Ganon of BOTW , TOTK 's Ganondorf takes the form of a more humanoid Gerudo, mirroring the villains past appearances in previous Zelda games like Ocarina of Time . Interestingly, promotional art for the game shows TOTK 's Ganondorf as taking somewhat of a departure from past Gerudo designs, with an exposed chest, ponytail, and a large kat<br><br> <br>Admittedly, this one feels a bit like cheating. Still, the Master Sword is the iconic primary weapon of the Zelda series.
