The addition of another playable character to **The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ** could greatly improve the overall experience. The Legend of Zelda has introduced many iconic characters over the years but player control rarely strays away from protagonist Link. However, changing this in the upcoming title could make for a refreshing change to the standard Zelda form
Additionally, whereas traditional Zelda dungeons are each defined by unique items that play into the dungeon's puzzles, Tears of the Kingdom is likely not going to include the likes of the Hookshot or Iron Boots. Like in BOTW , the powers that Link receives are likely to remain relatively static throughout the game, with the abilities from his mechanical right arm standing in for the previous game's Shiekah Slate. While the dungeons may still give certain powers, such as the Champion abilities from BOTW , the puzzles and challenges within them aren't likely to be specifically tailored around the use of specific it
There are many ways that multiple playable characters could be implemented in Tears of the Kingdom . For example, they could appear in sequences that run parallel to the main story, or perhaps before it, in the case of the Zonai. Such interludes could be as short or as long as required, and would provide a new perspective on the events of TOTK . In many cases, this would likely be something that would be impossible to convey from following Link’s point of view alone. As a result, it would be possible to develop TOTK ’s plot into a much more complex story than Breath of the Wild ?
TOTK providing Link with the Ultrahand gives him the ability to create all sorts of objects, including new vehicles in Tears of the Kingdom . Similar to Fuse, but on a much grander scale, Ultrahand can let Link combine materials and special Zonai devices together to construct everything from simple vehicles such as rafts to complicated ones like flying, flamethrowing tanks. Anything a player can think of can be possible, but they do have to get the physics correct in order for propulsion to work and so the whole thing doesn't just come apart at the se
One of the new faces to appear in the latest TOTK trailer, meanwhile, is an unidentified woman who bears a striking resemblance to BOTW ’s Zelda. A blonde Hylian with green eyes, she even wears the same clothing that Zelda does seemingly among the Zonai. Although their faces and skin tones differ, the similarities still suggest a deep connection between the two. If Zelda is a visitor to the time of the Zonai, then it is likely that this woman is native to that time; by extension, she could therefore be Zelda’s ancestor. And as per the tradition of the Hylian royal family, this would make this woman’s name Zelda as w
If every incarnation of Link is treated as essentially the same character, then there are very few playable characters in the core The Legend of Zelda franchise. The sole major alternative is Princess Zelda in Spirit Tracks , where players are able to guide her in possessing Phantoms. Aside from this, Makar and Medli are briefly playable in The Wind Waker , as is Kafei in Majora’s Mask . Meanwhile, in the Hyrule Warriors games, many more popular characters are playable. For example, Age of Calamity allowed players to take control of the four Champions, who each boasted a unique playstyle with their signature weapons and various abilit
Of course, there is also the near-certain possibility of entirely new characters being introduced to TOTK to consider. For example, with so much focus being placed on the Zonai Tribe in Tears of the Kingdom , the introduction of a member of this seemingly extinct civilization in some capacity is logically a strong capacity. As time travel could play a role in TOTK , even if the Zonai tribe is truly extinct in Hyrule’s present, it does not entirely preclude Link from encountering them. Alternatively, players could instead control a Zonai through some sort of flashback sequence taking place in the tribe’s hey
While expanding on Breath of the Wild , Tears of the Kingdom seems to, from trailers and previews, be also addressing many of the previous game's sore points, with the inclusion of what seems like more classic Zelda dungeons and a more substantial story. In doing so, however, the game also runs the risk of cutting too deeply into its own freeform gameplay - and, while the dungeons can be more traditional than BOTW 's, the dungeons of _The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom _ likely won't match up exactly with the class
The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom patch notes series has always included puzzles for players to solve, such as the shrine puzzles in BOTW . Tech Crunch explained that in the demo for Tears of the Kingdom , the puzzles were not as formally set up as in BOTW but seemed designed to be more organically stumbled upon within the world of Hyrule. As is common in any Zelda game, the puzzles still rely heavily on Link's new abilities and give players a chance to stretch their thinking to come up with how to solve them, but often there are many solutions that could w
