There is such a massive variety of different options and abilities for switching up combat in Black Myth: Wukong that it's easy to forget that one of the simplest ways to get stronger is to upgrade your choice of weapon.

While in the early chapters of Black Myth: Wukong, you might assume that getting new weapons is a pretty linear process, but the more involved you get in the side content and hidden missions, the more options and variety you'll get for your weapons. So, with so many different options for weapons, which are the ones you'll want to keep equipped for the tough bosses Wukong throws at you?

8 Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff

Close

One of the earlier weapons you can get in Black Myth: Wukong is the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-cloud-patterned-stone-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff in Chapter 2, and while it will not be the best option in the late-game, it'll be able to carry you through a lot of the mid-game. It also encourages you to try out more charged attacks, which is a perfect technique to start honing around this point in the game.

As well as the buff to damage from charged heavy attacks you get from this staff, you'll also get a chunky boost to The Destined One's defence which is massively appreciated with how tough a lot of the bosses are around this point in the game.

7 Chu-Bai Spear

Close

One feature that can be quite easy to overlook in Black Myth: Wukong depending on how you progress your skill tree, are the different stance options. On top of the basic control scheme, there are also Pillar and Thrust options. While it might be easy to miss these choices, there are some weapons that will encourage you to experiment.

One spear that is perfect if you want to try incorporating the Thrust stance into your playstyle is the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-chu-bai-spear.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Chu-Bai Spear . This spear will integrate spear techniques into your light attack combo, increasing damage this way, but you'll also get bonus damage on any Thrust stance moves as well.

6 Spikeshaft Staff

Close

By the time you've made considerable progress in Black Myth: Wukong you'll have realised that with well-timed strong attacks you are able to throw enemies out of their patterns and interrupt what could be a deadly attack - this is called 'seeing through' an enemy.

Depending on how you've built your skill tree, this might happen more often, and using the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-spikeshaft-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Spikeshaft Staff you'll get more buffs for pulling this technique off. You'll get more Focus built up for a short while after you've stunned an enemy like this, and since Focus points are often used to see through enemies, it creates a great ecosystem of keeping your enemies placated.

5 Chitin Staff

Close

One of the more stressful aspects of combat in Black Myth: Wukong is having to manage your health in longer boss fights so The Destined One can stay alive longer than his adversaries. This is why having abilities and passives that automatically heal you can be the difference between a successful run or failure.

The <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-chitin-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Chitin Staff is great at keeping The Destined One alive, with bonus health recovered for each Focus point you use with a charged heavy attack. On top of this, you'll have a higher chance of dealing more damage with the useful five percent to critical chance.

4 Spider Celestial Staff

Close

Similarly to some other weapons like the Chitin Staff, the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-spider-celestial-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Spider Celestial Staff will encourage you to regularly use your charged heavy attacks to get some bonus healing from the staff's passive ability.

However, it also encourages using this staff with a specific build that will keep The Destined One poisoned. If you are poisoned when doing a charged heavy attack, your attacks will also deal poison too. And there's a strong chance these will be powerful hits thanks to the bonus +12% critical chance.

3 Visionary Centipede Staff

Close

More often than not, you'll get new weapons by upgrading a weaker one, compared to making a new one from scratch. More confusingly, there are some weapons that branch into different paths with similar but still different stats and buffs.

For example, the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-visionary-centipede-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Visionary Centipede Staff is similar to the previous Spider Celestial Staff, and will also heal when using a charged heavy attacks. However, instead of dealing poison damage, it will deal more damage to a poisoned enemy. It also has a slightly lower critical chance boost of ten percent.

2 Golden Loong Staff

Close

The staff that you will likely put the most work into obtaining and crafting is the <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-golden-loong-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Golden Loong Staff , which requires completion of a multi-stage quest that lasts all the way from the first chapter to the fourth.

As well as its incredibly impressive base attack, the staff will also encourage trying out Pillar stance, with a buff given to attacks using this style.

1 Jingubang

Close

Likely, one of the last weapons you'll obtain in Black Myth: Wukong is right near the end of the final chapter. After getting all four pieces of Wukong's armor, you'll be able to obtain <img src="https://static0.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/sharedimages/2024/08/black-myth-wukong-jingubang-staff.png?fit=contain&h=22&w=22"; alt="" /> Jingubang Staff and take it into the final frontier of boss fights.

The weapon has a standard six percent bonus to critical chance. Still, it also has an armor set bonus (unlike any other weapon) which fits in with the Gold Suozi armor set that reduces spell cooldown after pulling off a critical hit.
<img src="https://burst.shopifycdn.com/photos/woman-leads-creative-meeting.jpg?width=746&format=pjpg&exif=0&iptc=0"; style="max-width:400px;float:left;padding:10px 10px 10px 0px;border:0px;" alt="" />
