Several bosses in **Elden Ring ** make little to no effort to hide their evil nature and deserve their eventual fate at the hands of the Tarnished. FromSoftware often designs their boss characters to be morally ambiguous or tragically sympathetic, and Elden Ring is no exception. Plenty of bosses don’t seem that villainous, and an Elden Ring player may feel bad for killing them. However, Elden Ring certainly does not lack downright evil characters.

The shard-bearers of Elden Ring are some of the most malicious characters in the story. They are the demigods who claimed shards of the titular Elden Ring when it was shattered. As a result, the brutal war called The Shattering ensued, in which many perished and no one arose to claim victory. Anyone willing to start a war to claim power for themselves is, at best, morally questionable. Yet, several among them stand out as genuinely evil. The demigods aren’t the only bosses that deserve their demise, as the quest to become the next Elden Ring Cheats Lord spawned another character willing to be just as vile.

Mohg, Lord of Blood , is a particularly nefarious boss who is responsible for kidnapping another demigod in hopes of bringing another Outer God to power. Sir Gideon Ofnir, one of the most notable Tarnished to return to the Lands Between at the beginning of Elden Ring , also contends with the evil demigods in his pursuit of the throne and eternal knowledge. Godrick is another particularly slimy boss. He is the weakest demigod, which leads him to do nasty things. Rykard also stands out for his ignoble actions in pursuing the power of the Elden throne.

Mohg, the Lord of Blood, can be found in a hidden area called the Mohgwyn Palace in the underground regions of Elden Ring . Like his twin brother Morgott, also known as Margit the Fell Omen , he is cursed with Omen blood. As a result, he was locked away in the sewers beneath Leyndell by his parents, Queen Marika and Godfrey. During the Shattering, Mohg claimed a shard of the Elden Ring for himself, but he remained out of the war. Instead, he kidnapped the Empyrean, Miquella, from the Haligtree. Mohg shared his Omen blood with him, hoping to raise him to godhood so that Mohg could rule alongside him as his consort and king of the Lands Between.

Miquella is the twin of Malenia, both of which were cursed with afflictions. Miquella was cursed with eternal youth, almost always depicted in-game in his child-like form. He is one of the few characters in Elden Ring that seems to be looking out for the well-being of the residents of the Lands Between. However, Mohg cut those plans short when he kidnapped the child-like demigod and used him for his twisted purposes. Needless to say, Mohg gets what’s coming to him when the player Tarnished arrives.

Sir Gideon Ofnir Betrays Elden Ring Players

Sir Gideon Ofnir, The All-Knowing, is a mysterious character in Elden Ring . Sir Gideon is one of the first people the Tarnished protagonist meets at the Roundtable Hold, of which Gideon is also the leader. He is never particularly kind to the player, rudely brushing them off in their first interaction. Sir Gideon is responsible for the ruthless massacre at the Village of the Albinaurics, which he orchestrated to locate a piece of the medallion that grants access to the Haligtree region. Upon returning to Elden Ring walkthrough Ring’s Roundtable Hold with the medallion, the player is attacked by Ensha, Gideon’s lapdog. Gideon then lies to the player about trying to have them killed.

Reddit user Practical_Meat devised a detailed analysis and theory that puts Sir Gideon’s actions into perspective. The Reddit theory poses the idea that Gideon only encourages the player Tarnished to obtain the shardbearers' Great Runes so that he could kill them and take them for himself in one go. This makes sense given what he says in his boss fight; that no one will be allowed to take the role of Elden Lord. It’s good that the player Tarnished is there to make Sir Gideon pay for his actions.

Godrick, The Grafted Is One Of Elden Ring's Worst Rulers

Godrick the Grafted is Elden Ring’s first demigod boss. He is a descendent of the Golden Lineage of Queen Marika and Godfrey. However, he is so far down the line that he possesses none of its remarkable qualities. He claimed a shard of the Elden Ring guide Ring during the Shattering but was promptly defeated by General Radahn and Malenia. The latter so sorely beat him that he was forced to beg for mercy.

This humiliation and lack of power from the Golden Lineage led Godrick to pursue grafting to make up for his lack of strength. He began abducting Tarnished warriors and attaching their body parts to himself and his soldiers. The player Tarnished arrives to put Godrick in his place, and the Lands Between is much better off for it.

Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Is Elden Ring's Slimiest Demigod

After Lord Rykard claimed his Elden Ring shard , he vowed to overthrow the Golden Order and oppose the Greater Will. This act awarded him the title of Lord of Blasphemy, but many still chose to join his cause. One of the Shattering’s most horrific battles was fought just outside his stronghold of Volcano Manor, and, like many battles in the war, no clear victor emerged. As a result, Rykard sought to augment his power in a despicable way.

Rykard fed himself to the Elder Serpent that lived inside the volcanic Mt. Gelmir. This allowed them to merge into one being, with Rykard’s face embedded in the giant snake’s body . This act set him on a downward spiral. He began calling on his best warriors so that he could devour them and also join in merging with the serpent. Many of his soldiers were troubled by Rykard’s growing dishonor and sought to use the Serpent-Hunter weapon to eliminate their former master, but all failed. The Tarnished must step in and defeat Rykard before he can devour the very gods.

These bosses committed some of the worst atrocities in **Elden Ring ** . They differ from other bosses in that their actions are far from reasonable and garner no sympathy. The player need not feel guilty for defeating them, as the Lands Between is a much safer and peaceful place with them out of the picture.
