As your child embarks on their educational journey, one key component of learning to read and write will inevitably involve sight words. Encouraging a regular study routine, rather than last-minute cramming, can assist in enhancing study habits and decrease tension related to tests.
To battle anxiety-related problems in children, we can turn to the burgeoning field of technology. Applications featuring techniques like mindfulness, stress-relief exercises, tutorials on different subjects, and encouraging resources can drastically help students develop healthier attitudes towards learning and testing.
Little Pickle Stories, a US-based children's education media company, recently launched an app called 'Test-Stress Relief' based on these principles. The goal is to help children view a test as a fun challenge rather than an anxiety-inducing event.
Incorporating these activities in the curriculum can make reading more exciting and appealing to primary school children. While it is appropriate to gauge a child's reading fluency progress regularly, it's crucial to maintain a supportive and non-threatening environment. The focus should be on promoting the love for reading and comprehension, not just the speed and accuracy.
