Honkai: Star Rail _ currently has 12 5-Star Light Cones for players to choose from, with a hierarchy already starting to form between them. Light Cones are akin to weapons from HoYoverse's other popular gacha game, _Genshin Impact , the difference being they are more like buffs as each character already has their own unique weapon. Each 5-Star character has their own Light Cone that fits them best but can be used on anyone.

Each Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail Game Rail has a unique perk that makes it stand out, but that perk is only active if equipped to a character of the correct Path/class. Without being the correct Path, the Light Cone will only give bonus stats to health, attack, and defense. Though each Light Cone does give different values, the difference in them is so tiny that it is negligible when it comes to ranking.

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/honkai-star-rail-city.jpg"; alt="" />

The Light Cone Texture of Memories gives the user effect resistance and will provide them with a shield when attacked without one. That shield will then decrease the damage they take from attacks until it is broken. This Light Cone is not a bad option for the tank member of a team, but effect resistance will not be better than a boost to defense. The ability to get a free shield that reduces damage is a helpful boon, making this Light Cone still have some value.

11 Moment Of Victory (Path of The Preservation)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/honkai-star-rail-gepard-best-build-light-cone-relic-stats.jpg"; alt="" />

Moment of Victory is the Light Cone belonging to Gepard; it boosts the user's defense and effect hit rate but at the cost of that character being attacked more often. This Light Cone is the best option for a tank while also giving it a chance to be a debuffer. The straight defense boost, which only increases when attacked, is too good to pass up. The only caution with this Light Cone is ensuring the tank stays up with how often they will be attacked.

10 Night On The Milky Way (Path of The Erudition)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/honkai-star-rail-himeko-best-build-light-cone-relic-stats-skills.jpg"; alt="" />

Night on the Milky Way is Himeko's Light Cone, which gives an attack buff based on how many enemies are on the field, with a damage increase when a Weakness Break is inflicted. Any attack and damage increase is good, giving this Light Cone a high floor. However, its ceiling is lowered due to its attack buff decreasing as enemies are defeated. For purely taking out regular enemies, this will be a handy Light Cone, but it will fall short when it comes to bosses or more formidable enemies.

9 The Battle Isn't Over (Path of The Harmony)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/honkai-star-rail-warp-passes-bronya.jpg"; alt="" />

The Battle Isn't Over is the Light Cone of Bronya, focused on buffing energy regeneration and giving the next character in the turn order a damage increase. This Light Cone can be amazing for a support character with a powerful ultimate. Just having the ability to use one's ultimate multiple times in a single battle, or getting it back quickly over numerous battles, could be life-saving. The damage increase given to the next character is helpful, but only if the right character is in order.

8 Time Waits For No One (Path of The Abundance)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bailu-splash-art-honkai-star-rail.jpg"; alt="" />

Time Waits for No One is Bailu's Light Cone focused on supporting the team. This Light Cone increases the max health and healing output of the character as well as deals damage to a random enemy when an ally launches an attack. This is the best option if using a healer, as it will keep them alive and powerful while also chipping in some damage. The only problem is that the healer likely doesn't contribute much already, making it crucial the DPS of the team is high.

7 On The Fall Of An Aeon (Path of The Destruction)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/kafka.jpg"; alt="" />

On the Fall of an Aeon is an offensive Light Cone that increases the character's attack for the battle when they attack, as well as a temporary damage increase when the character causes a Weakness Break. This is an overall solid option for DPS units, with the only downside being that the numbers are lower than other offensive Light Cones. It will also be important that the character using it is the main one causing Weakness Breaks or the second half of the ability becomes useless.

6 Cruising In The Stellar Sea (Path of The Hunt)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Honkai-Star-Rail-Preview.jpg"; alt="" />

Cruising in the Stellar Sea increases the user's crit rate, further increasing when targeting enemies under half health. This Light Cone will also increase attack for three turns when the user defeats an enemy. This is another solid option for DPS units but falls into the similar shortcoming of others having better numbers. The character using this will also have to be the main one defeating targets, which could lead to some stressful situations if the turn order doesn't line up.

5 In The Name Of The World (Path of The Nihility)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/honkai-star-rail-welt-best-build-light-cone-relic-ornament-stats-skills-1.jpg"; alt="" />

In the Name of the World is Welt's Light Cone, which will increase damage to debuffed enemies. It will also increase the user's effect hit rate and attack when they use their Skill. This is the best Light Cone to use when it comes to the team's debuffer, with the only downside being the damage increase feels wasted on a character that won't be the primary damage. However, in another aspect, all damage put towards the enemy is good damage, so any increase there is beneficial.

4 Sleep Like The Dead (Path of The Hunt)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/honkai-star-rail-yanqing-ultimate.jpg"; alt="" />

Sleep Like The Dead is the Light Cone of DPS unit Yanqing. This Light Cone will increase the user's crit damage, and if an attack does not crit, it will increase the crit rate for one turn. This is overall a strong option for DPS units looking to crit often and making those attacks feel even more powerful. The only downside to this is the crit rate increase can only be triggered every three turns, taking a bit of control out of the player's hands.

3 In The Night (Path of The Hunt)

<img src="https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/honkai-star-rail-best-seele-build-light-cones-relics-stats.jpg"; alt="" />

In The Night is the Light Cone for Seele in Honkai Star Rail beginner guide: Star Rail , and it will give a flat increase to the user's crit rate. Also, for every 10 speed over 100, the user's Basic and Skill damage will increase, along with the crit damage to their Ultimate. This is an excellent option for any Hunt DPS unit that only comes with the drawback that if they aren't fast, they lose out on the latter half of the perk.
